Summer Card Camp 2 Week3 Day 4

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 3  Day 4

Shabby is NOT my thing, but thought I'd try one.  I took a page out of my old dictionary (the page with "shabby" on it)  crinkled it and inked it.  I had paper with two shades of purple and one of blue to use as a banner.  I took apart several flowers and put them together for one and added the gem in the center.  I also added the twine fake bow.  That's as shabby as I can get.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 3 Day 3

Summer Card Camp 2  Week3 Day 3  Card 1

I followed sketch # 3 and came up with this card featuring Miss Lilly and Toby.  These were  a digital download.  After seeing this on the computer, I wish I had added wood grain to the brown.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 3 Day 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 3  Day 2  Card 1

I loved Jennifer's cards.  I had gold embossing powder so I tried her first one.  It was fun seeing the layers of gold melt until it really looked like metal.  I added sequins for the little berries.  I colored the butterflies two shades of blue and then used Embossing Tinsel "Snowflake" over them.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 3 Day 1

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 3  Day 1 Card 3

I made this one after seeing Nicole's card.  It's deeper and shinier in person.  I used the left over butterfly from my second card for this one.  I didn't add a sentiment so I can use it for any of several occasions.

Thank you for stopping by and any comments would be appreciated.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 3 Day 1

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 3  Day 1  Card 2

I followed Kristina's directions.  I used purple and white twine instead of the brown twine.  I used her same colors of Distress Inks to color the white paper and then stamped and cut out the butterfly.

Thank you for visiting and, if you leave a comment, thank you for that as well.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 3 Day 1

These are some of the supplies I found which might go with this week's color scheme.

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 3  Day 1 Card 1

I tried the bkgd similar to what Jennifer did.  I need a lot more practice, but it did leave a shadow that was interesting.  I thought it looked like it needed a golfer so I found one on Google and colored him to match this week's colors.

Thank you for visiting and, if you leave a comment, thank you so much as I appreciate the feedback.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 5

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 5

I didn't have the flowers to make it look good so I tried it with hot air balloons on the back panel, pine trees on the middle vellum and lupine on the front vellum.

Summer Card Class 2 Week 2 Day 5

Summer Card Stamp 2  Week 2  Day 5  Card 1

I tried this card three times....not as easy for me as I thought.  I ended up NOT putting the darker color around the outside.  I had dye inks and I think it might work out better with pigment inks, like Jennifer said.  But it was a chance to try the ink etching and masking off.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 4

It didn't look quite finished to me so I added a party look to the bkgd.

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 4  Card 2

I stamped this twice and cut off her arm to use 3D.  I cut off her holly wings and replaced them with half a butterfly.  I pieced her hair to cover up the holly in her hair.  I also cut off the curled up toes of her shoes, added a gift and real ribbon to her bodice.

Now it can be a birthday card for a little girl.

This is Mr. & Mrs. Santa by Whipper Snapper Designs Inc.

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 4  Card 1

This is adapting a x'mas stamp to an everyday stamp.
I had some paper with the brown and green which looked like what happens with the alcohol inks.  I used that for the bkgd.  I stamped a sentiment and scored around that to help it look more finished and stand out.  I then colored and paper pieced the "couple" and added a hair décor and a flower.

I can see where this could be a lot of fun.  I think I'll add Glossy Accents to her glasses.  Then I'll be done this one.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 3

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2 Day 3  Card 3

I really liked the look of the half cut-out butterflies and wanted to try that look.  I used presents instead.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 3

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 3  Card 2

I don't have the circle dies yet so I used the plastic circles and the blades from Creative Memories to cut all the shapes.  I added bird seed for a fun effect.  Hope you like this one.  I really do.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 3

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 3  Card 1

This was fun, but while doing this one I got an idea for a fun shaker card.  I'll add that one later today, hopefully.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2  Day 2  Card 2

I stamped Hero Arts' Garden Bouquet with Versa Mark and added clear embossing powder.  After heat setting, I added ribbon, rounded the upper corners and added a butterfly to help tie in the ribbon.  I ended by added the sentiment.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2 Day 2  Card 1

I didn't have enough colors in the embossing powder so I used different colored inks on the stamps and then used clear embossing powder over it and used the heat gun on it.  It's shiny I think I like the different colors going from light on top to darker on bottom.

Summer Card Class 2 Week 2 Day 1

Summer Card Class 2  Week 2  Day 1  Card 3

This card is all about paper piecing.  The balloons and dog are paper pieced and the sentiment is embossed in gold.  I added brown and white twine for the balloons.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 2 Day 1

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 2 Day 1 Card 2

The top card I did the inking like it was done in the video and the bottom card I added the colors will a sponge applicator.  One is bolder and one softer.  I'm not sure which I like better.  What do you think?

Some of the supplies I've found to use this week.

 Week 2 Card 1

I never thought to put the frame ring on the inside and that really finishes it off nicely on the outside and the inside.  I really like that idea.  The other idea I had fun with was using unusual objects to use as stamps.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 4 Card 3

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 4 Card 3

This House Mouse was screaming for a Wobble and it was already the right colors, so just some cutting out and darkening the sky a bit and there you have it.

Summer Card Camp Week 1 Day 4 Card 2

Summer Card Camp Week 1 Day 4 Card 2

Tried the flowers.  I wanted it with less different patterned papers so this is what I came up with.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 4

Summer Card Camp Week 1 Day 4

This is my 10 minute card.  I used left over strips in the right colors and paper pieced a cupcake.  Lastly I added a sentiment.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 3 Card 1

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 3 Card 1

I had this paper with all the colors, plus lime.  I stamped ribbon with the sentiment and added that as a banner.  I added a pair of flip flops and then added Stickles in a lot of places to give it an extra kick.

This was fun to put together.

I did the ink strips, but changed it up a bit and then added the image and sentiment.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 2 Card 1

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 1 Day 2  Card 1

Inside the card I tried the stamping technique Jennifer shared with us.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 1 Card 3

Week 1 Day 1 Card 3

Again, Jennifer made this look easy.  I need more practice on the bkgd.  This was fun though and I really like the color combo.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 1 Card 2 and supplies

I took the time to collect papers and embellishments which will go with this week's card making.  It was fun looking over items I hadn't seen for quite awhile.....everything from old to the butterfly I just made yesterday.

Week 1 Card 2
For the butterfly I embossed it with gold and then filled in the inside with clear embossing so that the whole butterfly shines.

Summer Card Camp 2 Week 1 Day 1

Summer Card Camp 2  Week 1 Day 1

I started with the third sketch and came up with this card.  I used Echo Park Splash papers and added flowers and a gem.  I used 4 of the 5 colors, but there was some green on one of the papers as well.    Tomorrow I'll hunt through all my stash to find things that are the original 5 colors to use after this.

Penny Black Anything Goes

Penny Black's Anything Goes Challenge

I chose Penny Black's "Join in?" 2004 stamp (one of my favorites).  I thought it would be fun to turn it into a moving card.  It doesn't show in the picture, but there is a tab on the lower right hand side that you move up and down to move the see-saw.

Summer Card Camp 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Pre-Class Challenge 2 Card 3
This is my third card for Pre-Class Challenge.  I had three different sizes of roses and decided to use them for this challenge.  I colored them with colored pencils and went around the outsdie of the images with light gray and around the outside of each circle with purple to give a more finished look.

Summer Card Camp 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Pre-Class Challenge 2 Card 2

I wanted to do a more feminine card than the black and white I did first and came up with this one.

Summer Card Camp 2

I wanted to make a black and white version of this layout and came up with this one.

Summer Card Samp 2 Pre-class card 3

Summer Card Camp Pre-class card 3 color combo

I paper pieced the umbrella and boots and then 3D'd the hedgehog.  I haven't decided what, or if, I'll use for a greeting on this one.

Summer Card Camp 2

Summer Card Camp 2  Pre-class combo 1 card 2

I needed to make a card for a dear friend so decided to use this same color combo for her card.  I dry embossed the base card, added pruchased flowers from my stash and then added the deep grey pearls to the centers.

Summer Card Camp 2

Summer card Camp 2   Pre-class color combo 1

I cut the words out with the "Walk in the Garden" Cricut cartridge, after I used a Cricut color marker.  I used the heart punch to make my flowers (saw Jennifer do this a few days ago).

I am so looking forward to this class.

His/Her Card Idea

His / Her Card Class

A friend gave me a copy of the boy jeans.  I made it into a shaped card, added faux stitching, a 3D pocket and frog and3D'd the buttons and then added Glossy Accents.  Then I thought it would be cute to have a girl version and post it on the class gallery.  I used paper piecing, added real buttons and 3D'd the pocket and frog.  I also added half a double flower ribbon I recently bought.

His/Her Cards Day 4 Card 2

His/Her Card Class Day 4 Card 2

I wanted to try the card with the name tag and heart closing.  I made the 4 layer letters and heart.  I added white enamel to the heart and used copper acrylic paint dabber on the letters and border.  I left enough room above my friends name so I could add a sentiment when I decide when/why I'll use this card.  This was fun to make and a little different---which is always nice.

His/Her Card Class Day 4 Card 1

His/ Her Card Class Day 4 Card 1

Since I have neither a father nor a mother I made this card so it could be sent to a friend.  I used Word like Jennifer showed us in her video.  Makes it fun and easy to print out font.  It looks a lot better than the mailing labels I had been using (those showed somewhat).  I added my silver dots with a silver Sharpie and also added a foam poke-a-dot star on the inside.   I didn't have a star die so I traced  a star and cut them half out using a craft blade.
