Patterned Papers Day 5 Card 1

Patterned Papers Day 5 Card 1

I enjoyed tryig out a card similar to Kristina's.  I used the Darice embossing folder-Argyle.
I then followed Kristina's directions for the patchwork look.  I punched out a circle and added holes.  Then I stamped a rag doll, colored her in with similar colors. The papers were from Hero Arts" Hello Luscious" collection.  I had fun doing this card.  I left off the sentiment so it can be used later for any number of reasons.

Patterned Papers Day 4 Card 2

Patterned Papers Day 4 Card 2

I changed the background by adding Star Dust Stickles to the plain colored eggs.  I also fuzzy cut three of the chicks out and added them as embellishments.

I tried the background like Shari showed us.  I used paper from Making Memories' English Garden.  I wasn't totally sold on my other pattern so I punched out a butterfly, added stickles to it and then added a sentiment.

Patterned Papers Day 3 Card 3

Patterned Papers Day 3 Card 3

I used paper from an 8X8 by Making Memories, English Garden.  I popped the section with the flowers and the mat with opening.  Then I added fake flowers and gems and a sentiment.

Patterned Papers Day 3 Card 2

I used papers I have had for a long time, but never use because they are too big and bold for me.  This was a good opportunity for me to use some of them.  They are from K&Campany (an 8.5X8.5 pad).  I used black as a mat and cut out one of the birds to add to the outside of the vellum.  I black embossed the vellum with a flower and butterfly postage stamp.  I also used washi tape.  This is NOT one of my favorites.

One of the Pattern Play girls suggested I add a flower at the bottom to even things out and she is right.  I like this one much better.  Thank you for the suggestion!  :)

Patterned Papers Day 3 Card 1

Patterned Papers Day 3 Card 1

I used a busy and glittery paper from DCWV, The Whimsy Collection.  I cut the piece in strips and added the strips over a green mat.  From the Hot off The Press Design Tool Kit # 2, I used the small label stencil the make the sentiment tags.  I then added some green gems and it's done....a paper I loved but thought was too big to use on a card!  Surprise!

Patterned Papers Day 2 Card 3

I didn't have a stamp I could use (I even looked to see if I had one I could use the back--no luck) so I used masking paper and masked off as I went along.  I punched out the butterflies for those masks.  She's right, it's like Christmas when you peel off your masks.  I love it.  I used Picked Raspberries, Evergreen Bough and Shaded Lilac---all Distress Inks.  FUN!

Patterned Papers Day 2 Card 2

I used a lot of scraps to do my turtle. There are 5 different patterned papers on this card.  Some parts are popped once and some twice.  I used the Cling Stamps I got from "Operation Write Home"--pun stamps.

Patterned Papers Day 2 Card 1

Paterned Papers Day 2 Card 1

I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Clementine Mini Deck (6X6).  On the bottom I stamped with Vera Mark and embossed in clear, using Penny Black's Slapstick/Cling.  I then used Distress Ink, Mowed Lawn over the embossing.  I added a sticker from Cosmo Criket's Togetherness stickers and three gems.  I rounded the corners and popped the sentiment.

I'm going to try this again with  totally different papers.  I'm thinking this card might be too busy.

Pattern Play Day 1 Card 3

Patterned Paper Play Day 1 Card 3

I used the patterned papers from DCWV's 8X8 The Garden Party stack.  I added the plain colored scalloped strip from my scraps drawer.  Then I cut out one of the butterflies from the paper and added thread antennea.  I don't think it shows, but the butterfly paper is glittery.

Pattern Play Day 1

This is Day 1 of the on-line class Patterned Papers.

I took my patterned papers from the 6X6 Authenique.  I used a cream background and also for the sentiment.  I used a thin strip of stripe and one cut from a large rose print.  I also used the printed page in that collection as a neutral.  Now that I see it on line, I wish I had inked around the rose sqaure, but I like the papers I chose.  This is very new to me, using patterned papers.

Simon Says Sketch Challenge 2

I used Sketch Challenge 2 at Simon Says to create this card.  I again 3D'd the dog and the teddy bear.

I added this card to the Pre-class for Patterned Play.  I followed a sketch but used my own choices for patterns.  I'm not too use to using multiple patterned papers.  I'm hoping this class will give me the courage to venture more in this direction.

Simon Says Sketch Challenge 1 A

I used the first sketch at Simon Says as a starting off point for this card.  I 3D'd the dog and teddy bear.

I also added this card to the pre-class gallery on Patterned Play class.

Simom Says Sketch Challenge 1

I did this card by following Sketch 1 Challenge for Simon Says, March 14, 2013.  I'm not good at mixing patterned papers so this was a stretch for me...but fun to try it out.

I also added this to the gallery at Pattern Play, which starts on Monday, March 18, 2013.  I followed a sketch, but added my own choice of papers and stamps.
